10 simple teambuilding activities for a successful event
Sometimes it is necessary to take some time with your team. Strengthening bonds, discovering each other’s personalities in an atmosphere far from the work environment, simply having fun. For this reason, teambuilding is the ideal event to organize. But how can you be sure to please your team? At Eventdrive, we are a bit like teambuilding experts. We have clearly understood how important it is to do it regularly to maintain a high level of productivity. We offer you 10 simple teambuilding activities that will seduce your team!
Make an Escape Game
A trendy new activity, escape games are perfect for a successful teambuilding. The objective is simple: to solve a series of puzzles as a team in order to get out of a room before the end of the time. This activity will make your employees’ minds work, but above all it will teach them to work in a team. And yes, no need to hope to do all the work alone. The only disadvantage is that if you have a large team, you will have to find a company with enough rooms to accommodate all the guests.
For small budgets, you can easily organize a homemade escape game. We did it at Eventdrive on Halloween and this activity clearly allowed us to build strong relationships between members of the same team. Here is a site that offers you the best ready-to-use kits: discover the home-made escape game.
A Rafting Day
Or any other aquatic activity! The advantage of rafting is that you can divide your team into different small groups, but the boats will do the same ride. Again, this is an activity that will stimulate team spirit. Take our word for it, it is not always easy to coordinate to paddle at the same pace! A mini competition could also be set up between the different rafts, each one wanting to arrive first at the end. 😉
A Treasure Hunt
A little in the same spirit as the escape game, but this time on a much larger field and outdoors. Many companies have specialized in organizing life-size treasure hunts and it is worth it. Each team starts from the same point and must achieve the same objective. It can sometimes be very amusing to see how the problem can be addressed. The advantage is that by searching for the famous treasure, you will surely take advantage of it to discover and learn new things about your city.
I highly recommend the Origamix startup, which uses gamification to design new experiences, teambuilding, training and recruitment.
A Cooking Course
If your corporate culture is about wellness and the development of good consumer habits, the group cooking course can be a good example of a team-building activity. Not only will your teams work together, but it can also be an opportunity to discover new cultures. Maybe some of your team members are from another country? Why not learn more about their culture and cook some of their country’s culinary specialities?
Laser Tag
This activity was very popular a few years ago and we have heard less and less about it. And yet, laser games are still as much fun as ever! By privatizing one of the courses, you can choose to play team against team or individual games. The competitiveness of some of your collaborators may take over, but laser tagging is always a good way to have fun, while discovering those who take it most seriously. 😉
A Tasting of Local Products
There are many possibilities: a wine and cheese tasting, learning how to make cocktails, discovering the different types of whisky… or teas, for an alcohol-free theme. By devoting a little time to discovering new flavours of products that we appreciate, but that we don’t necessarily know as much as we think, time flies! Tasting sessions are always highly appreciated and help to strengthen ties. And yes, often, anecdotes arise when we discover tastes that have marked our childhood.
Do Archery Fighting
Kezako, are you going to tell me? This activity is not well known to the general public and yet it is expanding! The principle is simple: each person is equipped with a bow and arrow that has a foam tip. Everyone is locked in a room that has obstacles (but which are mainly there to protect you). Divided into two groups, your team will have to compete according to rules chosen by the host. A very sporty and fun activity that is out of the ordinary. Don’t worry, the archer’s fight is completely painless.
A Multi-Sports Challenge
Do you like the idea of doing a little sport during your teambuilding? Why not organize Olympic mini-games? The advantage is that you can choose several different sports, each working on a different aspect. This will allow you to adapt the levels of difficulty and offer activities that will appeal to as many people as possible. Be careful though, this kind of team building requires more preparation work beforehand, but nothing that should scare the event planner you are. 😉
Play Bubble Football
You’ve already seen these big transparent plastic bubbles that you can put on for a football game and you’ve always wanted to try, haven’t you? Your next teambuilding is the perfect opportunity! Whether you are a football fan, a regular player or not, bubble football should seduce your teams quite easily. Particularly sporty, this activity will cause laughter attacks and possibly some falls. But the airbag should avoid pain quite easily!
A Virtual Reality Game
You’ve already seen these big transparent plastic bubbles that you can put on for a football game and you’ve always wanted to try, haven’t you? Your next teambuilding is the perfect opportunity! Whether you are a football fan, a regular player or not, bubble football should seduce your teams quite easily. Particularly sporty, this activity will cause laughter attacks and possibly some falls. But the airbag should avoid pain quite easily!
There is no shortage of team-building activities. Before choosing the one that will please your teams, try to survey them to find out if they are more interested in a sporting moment or, on the contrary, more relaxed. Finally, remember that no matter what happens, you can’t please everyone and the few disappointed will necessarily be more comfortable during the next activity.
